The Kia Sorento Plug-in Hybrid utilizes the same 1.6-liter turbo-four engine as the Hybrid. However, it has standard all-wheel drive and a larger electric powertrain, increasing output to 261 horsepower. A 14-kWh battery pack helps achieve an EPA-estimated 79 MPGe (miles-per-gallon equivalent).1 It also enables an estimated 32 miles of electric-only range, making it a great way to experience emissions-free Minden commutes without relying on 100% battery power.
Designed to be easy to live with, the Kia Sorento PHEV can replenish its battery in approximately 3.5 hours with a Level 2 (240-volt) charging station. However, you don't necessarily need a specialized installation to enjoy plug-in electric benefits. The Sorento PHEV can charge completely overnight in ~10.5 hours using a standard 120-volt household-style outlet.
Interior and Versatility
